The unusual heat wave in vast diamond-rich Yakutia region, with straddles the Arctic, sent locals scurrying to the ‘world’s most unusual beach’ - a glacier - to chill on the ice. Buluus glacier lies in a deep valley some 60 miles south of Yakutsk surrounded by pristine pine forests and lush green meadows. ‘The Buluus glacier is a fantastic place to be in the middle of summer when the air heats to over 30C.
