In 2016, she produced a wildfire documentary for CBC Radio's Ideas called World on Fire, then in 2019 hosted a national CBC Radio show called Smoked Out: How Wildfires are Changing Canadian Summers. Flannigan has been studying wildland fires for more than 40 years and has published more than 200 papers.
