Guterres plans to spend three days in New Zealand as part of a trip to the South Pacific to highlight the problems of climate change. The world is not set to meet objectives to limit global temperature increases to 1.5 per cent, TVNZ quoted Guterres as saying Sunday. Guterres said countries were not living up to their commitments under the 2016 Paris climate agreement to keep the global temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. "We are not on track to achieve the objectives defined in the Paris Agreement," he said. Pacific nations on the front lineGuterres said Pacific Island nations are on the front line of climate change.
