Paris (AP) — France is hosting an international conference in Libya on Friday as North African countries head for the long-awaited elections next month. Vice President Kamala Harris of the United States and several world leaders are expected to attend the Paris Conference to promote transparent and credible elections. The meeting on Friday will be co-chaired by France, Germany, Italy, Libya and the United Nations and will be attended by senior international and regional officials. The meeting will take place within the six weeks that Libyans will vote in the first round of the presidential election on December 24th. Edith Lederer of the United Nations contributed.
