No easy homecoming for Tom Walsh in NZ shot put seriesGETTY IMAGES World indoor champion Tom Walsh will return to Christchurch for another crack at The Big Shot. Tom Walsh might be the world indoor champion but he won't get it easy on his home turf. Walsh, fresh from his world indoor championships victory in Birmingham last weekend, will be the headline act of the three-pronged shot put competition during the Athletics New Zealand International Series that begins in his hometown of Timaru on March 14. Whiting, who won the World Indoor Championships in 2012 and 2014, defeated Walsh in the 2015 edition of The Big Shot but was a disappointing seventh in Birmingham. Meanwhile, Dame Valerie Adams will make just her second appearance since winning a silver medal at the Rio Olympics in The Big Shot.
