Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her message said water and sustainable development are interconnected in riverine Bangladesh. “I hope by observing World Water Day 2020, nature, water and climate related awareness will be raised among the people for the development of our country,” Sheikh Hasina said. World Water Day is held annually on March 22 to focus attention on the importance of freshwater and advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. The United Nations General Assembly responded by designating March 22, 1993, as the first World Water Day.
