Their four year, $60 million clinical trial for treating antibiotic resistant TB will target 15 countries in three continents. There are hot-spots of resistance, with Russia having >18% drug-resistant TB. TB AllianceThe TB epidemic reflects a perfect storm of poverty, malnutrition, and lack of access to adequate care. Sadly, currently less than 2% can access bedaquiline or delamanid, primarily through clinical trials as these drugs are primarily only available through clinical trials or limited national programs.
