In-the-buff bike enthusiasts descended on cities across the UK on the 16th outing of the event. As well as providing an opportunity for cyclists to air their wares, the ride is carried out in protest of car culture. In Cardiff, where the ride is in its 12th year, cyclists took off from Cardiff University and pedalled around the city centre. In Manchester hundreds of riders took over the city's streets on a day when temperatures failed to creep higher than 14C in the north west. If you ride a bike you are 15 times more likely to be killed than if you drive a car, Government statistics show.
