World Junior Championships: Ee Wei breezes through 2 events, moves into 4th round


Ee Wei, who partners Ng Eng Cheong in mixed doubles, barely broke a sweat as they saw off China's Feng Yanzhe-Chen Yingxue 21-12, 21-9 in the third round. Meanwhile, two other Malaysian mixed doubles duo – Chang Yee Jun-Pearly and Man Wei Chong-Tan Sueh Jeou – followed suit by booking their place in the fourth round. In the singles event, reigning Asian junior champion Leong Jun Hao cruised into the fifth round of the boys event when he beat Johnnie Torjussen of England 21-8, 21-14. In the girls singles event, 2015 champion Goh Jin Wei reached the fifth round when she notched a 21-14, 21-13 win over Canada's Catherine Choi. Eoon Qi Xuan is the other Malaysian girls' singles to reach the fifth round after chalking up a 20-22, 21-18, 21-12 win over Taiwan's Huang Yin Hsuan.
