World Bank loans the government Sh1.2bn towards the Blue EconomyKenya’s quest for Blue Economy has received a huge boost after the World Bank loaned the government Sh1.2 billion. The monies will be used to train youth in various skills including shipping, maritime, logistics, warehousing, nautical science among other competence courses in the Blue Economy. Speaking during a Blue Economy meeting, specifically Maritime players round table at the Kenya Coast National Polytechnic in Mombasa, Principal Secretary State Department for Vocational and Technical Training (VTT) Kevit Desai said the seed funding will be used to train Kenyans to tap into the sector.
