The workers locked the main gates of the building and then surrounded it, preventing any other worker from entering the offices. Rajshahi City Corporation Workers Union President Dulal Sheikh said Tk 400,000 due to fourth-grade workers has not been paid. “The Rajshahi City Corporation is lying to us,” said the workers’ union General Secretary Ajibur Mamun. The RCC workers began their strike on Jun 12 in front of the city corporation offices. The doors were reopened on Jul 5 after assurances the workers’ demands would be met.
