After taking the northern-based firm to a tribunal claiming harassment, victimisation and constructive dismissal Robson has now won substantial compensation. "It was clearly considered funny for someone to make such a remark," Robson told the hearing, describing himself as "stunned and deeply upset". Then in March his boss Graeme Peat brought up the annual Gay Pride event. "Peat said he was going to start Straight Pride in retaliation for gay people rubbing Gay Pride in his face." The tribunal heard Robson resigned from the £25,000-a-year job four days after the Straight Pride comment, getting an offer to join a new energy start-up.
