Work to start on Walsh Island water mains upgradeUisce Éireann is to start work on replacing 2.7km of old water mains with new modern pipes in Walsh Island. It said, once complete, the new water mains would provide a more reliable water supply for the community and reduce high levels of leakage. The section of works will commence in late February at the junction of the R400 in Enaghan and progress North-West towards Walsh Island. The works will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers’ property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply. Uisce Éireann understands that this type of work can be inconvenient and work crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption.
