MNS threatened to beat up Pakistani artists if they did not leave the country within 48 hours. In wake of the Uri terror attacks, the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has demanded that Pakistani artistes leave India immediately in 48 hours and warned them of physical attacks if they did not comply. He also declared that they would not allow movies like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees to be released since they starred Pakistani actors. Shiv Sena MP from South Mumbai and spokesperson Arvind Sawant said that the Sena was the first to put its stance about Pakistan and had disrupted events by Pakistani actors. In 2012, the party opposed the presence of Pakistani artistes on a singing reality show on a television channel in which singer Asha Bhosle was to be one of the judges.
