Ms Ntimama plunged in national politics in the last elections but lost to Ms Kudate. “If she had no grass in her hands, she could only address the gathering while seated,” says Ms Ntimama. The deputy governor has been a strong defender of women rights and advocates for education for girls. The ratio of men to women in the region is said to equal but women are yet to pull their numbers in their favour.
