A group of up to 79 women have received out-of-court settlements after being given the wrong information over breast cancer tests. The women, all patients at King's Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire had been recalled in October 2012 after concerns were raised over the standard of the oestrogen receptor (ER) tests. Following a review of the ER tests, it was discovered the secondary tests results included some false positives, meaning the original results were in fact correct. 'Having spent a number of years representing 11 of those patients concerned, I witnessed the distress caused by the misreporting of the ER results.
