The Awami League government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina adopted many projects for women empowerment. Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Act-2010 and Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Rules-2013 have been drafted to prevent domestic violence against women and protect them. Bangladesh has achieved gender equality in the primary and secondary levels of education and women's education has been made free. He also said that scholarships are being given to female students from the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Fund to facilitate women's education.
