Kenya has been a global leader in coffee production over the years with its premium brand, Arabica Coffee, fetching premium prices at the global marketplace. To revitalize the industry, Nestle, has been conducting a Gender Value Chain Training for Kenyan women coffee farmers, focusing on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) & Good Processing Practices (GPP). She said the initiative has boosted her knowledge of the coffee industry. Kimatta called on the government to support the coffee farmers from the beginning of the chain to its end to boost the country's coffee production. “The plan is to excite Kenyan coffee farmers to show them that the crop can still regain its lost glory,” said Nestle Corporate Communications and PR Manager, East and Southern Africa region, Judy Mwangi.
