Women in an Indian village face tough times ahead as they have been banned from using their mobile phones, cited reasons being limiting their interaction with men. The same women will also be heavily fined if caught using their devices, according to Indian police. Madora, which is commonly a village occupied by Muslims was where the ruling was passed. According to the village elders, mobile phones being used by unmarried women in Madora village allow them to escape from the clutches of men. However, these elders over the years have come under strong criticism regarding the rules they pass and how they are implemented.
