Lukowshie made the assertion recently when she served as the keynote speaker at a program marking the International Women’s Day held in Duazon, Margibi County. The program was organized by the Women and Children’s Development Association (WODCAL) which also commemorated its 9th anniversary. The event brought together women from diverse backgrounds, including students, under the global theme: “Press for Progress” with the national theme: “Act Now: Support the Liberian Women’s Agenda.” Madam Lukowshie said the International Women’s Day is a time to reflect and focus more on the important role women have played in the world. Meanwhile, in commemoration of the International Women’s Day celebration, few women were honored for their meaningful contributions over the years to the Liberian society. Mrs. Watchen Harris Bruce on behalf of the honorees lauded WOCDAL for the recognition and encouraged other women to be supportive to one another.
