An Auckland woman was stunned after she discovered a restaurant had referred to her and her group of friends as "Asians" on their customer receipt. The restaurant had written "Asians" to identify the group on a receipt, which was then printed and given to the customer. The woman said she found it racist and appalling, but the restaurant blamed the "mistake" on a new employee. "As a group of 'Asians' born in this country, we were truly shocked at the restaurant for their incredibly racist service." A new waiter had typed in 'Asians' on the customer receipt to help identify the group because the restaurant was so busy, he said.
