Woman seeks her rescuer after being left in a phone box as a baby

A woman who was abandoned in a telephone box as a baby is searching for the stranger who rescued her. Kiran Sheikh, 22, was just two hours old when she was left by her mother in the middle of the night. She was taken to Newham General Hospital and was later adopted by a Pakistani family. Her mother, who already had six children and was in a violent relationship, left her daughter on April 30, 1994, in Newham, east London, after calling the Samaritans. A man who wanted to make a telephone call discovered her first and called the police.
