KUANTAN: A 20-year-old woman suffered in silence for four years as she endured the countless times she was raped by her own father. It is understood that the family, including the rape victim and her four younger siblings, often had to endure beatings from the man. Unaizah sentenced him to 40 years in jail while Aminah meted out a 75-year jail term and 24 strokes of rotan. His action does not reflect proper behaviour of a father, who is expected to guide his daughters on the right path. "The offence is serious as seen in the rarity of rape being discussed among members of society," she said.
