NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Newport News Police confirmed to WAVY they are investigating a Thursday morning homicide. Police dispatch received the first call about a shooting at 8:42 a.m.Officers were called out to the 1100 block of 33rd Street to investigate. They arrived to find a woman outside a home suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
