A “naive, vulnerable” woman has been jailed after her son brought her into an international drug syndicate responsible for importing more than a tonne of drugs into New Zealand. Ramos Mazuela, from Chile, was arrested, alongside her son, as part of an eight-month police operation called Operation Mystic. On Friday at the High Court at Auckland, Justice Grant Powell sentenced Ramos Mazuela to 11 and a half years imprisonment.
