The police have arrested Nallamma, 40, and her elder son Nagaraj, both of whom are construction labourers. Investigations revealed that Ramesh too was a construction labourer and was chronic alcoholic who used to harass his mother for money to buy drinks. On Saturday, Ramesh assaulted Nallamma when she refused to give him money. But Nallamma, with Nagaraj’s help, overpowered Ramesh, snatched the knife and stabbed him instead.
