MetService forecaster said last night temperatures dropped to single digits but it was fine and there should not have been too much wind. A woman and four young children are facing their third day lost in one of the North Island's most remote and rugged national parks. The woman who took the children into the bush is from the area. Searchers have mounted an extensive search for a group that includes four children aged between 4 and 9 years now missing since Tuesday afternoon in Te Urewera National Park. The group spent a night in the wilderness before the alarm was raised at 4pm the next day.
