The deceased woman is yet to be identified. Sakhipur police station OC, Amir Hossain, told Dhaka Tribune that locals found a body of a woman with a scarf tight around her neck and informed the police. Police recovered the body and sent it to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Initial reports suggest the woman was strangled to death after being raped, the OC said.
