A woman has filed a case with a Chittagong court against cricketer Mehedi Hasan Maruf, on the charge that he aborted her baby by hitting at her abdomen. Mehedi Hasan Maruf, who debuted in first class cricket in 2006, is an opening right hand batsman and played for Dhaka Dynamites in the domestic league. According to the case statement, Maruf had married Tamanna in November 29, 2009, and continued playing at home and abroad while staying at his in-law’s house till 2015. Meanwhile, the victim became pregnant and her husband started forcefully urging her to get an abortion, the case statement added. On February 19, this year, Maruf beat the victim so badly, at one point kicking her in the lower abdomen, she was eventually forced to have an abortion.
