Woman 'disgusted' at seeing mice at Auckland's Takanini Countdown supermarket

Countdown said it had spent $20,000 dollars trying to stop mice getting into its Takanini store in south Auckland. A woman says she was disgusted to see mice are running around a supermarket and appearing from underneath loaves of bread on shelves. The woman, from the south Auckland suburb of Manurewa, spotted the vermin when she took her son and mother to Countdown in Takanini on Wednesday morning. The woman said she would not return to the Takanini store again. A Countdown spokeswoman also told New Zealand Herald the Takanini store manager had contacted Rentokil after a customer reported seeing the mice.
