A woman who died after a stabbing at a west Auckland home was with friends at a "girls' day to get their lashes and hair done". Emergency services were called to the two-storey home on School Rd, Te Atatu just after 4pm on Saturday. Senior Sergeant Ian Byrne said the woman was seriously injured, but alive when police arrived on the scene. As a woman left the scene, she yelled from a car: "She was my beautiful beautiful niece!
