PEKAN: A 55-year-old woman crashed her multipurpose vehicle (MPV) into the Pekan District Council food stalls while trying to avoid hitting a motorcyclist. According to the police, Aini Idris was driving her MPV along Jalan Sultan Ahmad here when she wanted to make a right turn. Police said a car had given way to Aini but then a motorcycle suddenly moved towards her direction. Surprised by the appearance of the motorcycle, Aini tried to hit the brakes but in panic, stepped on the accelerator instead. The MPV sped forward and hit another car before crashing into the food stalls.
