The arrestees identified as Lutfor Rahman Biswas, councilor of ward no 3 under Kakonhat municipality, Akbar Ali, and Merazul Islam. According to police sources, one Mofijul raped the mother of two by entering into her room at Ghiapukur Mohalla under the municipality on Wednesday night. Regarding the matter, Godagari’s Kakonhat Police Investigation Centre In-Charge Abdul Latif said: “The woman was raped. For this reason, a case was filed against them including rapist Mofijul. We are trying to arrest prime accused Mofijul.”The arrested were sent to jail following a court order on Thursday afternoon, the police official added.
