A care home worker charged with murdering her newborn baby girl and dumping her body in a park appeared in court today. The young mother arrived in Britain from Nepal six months pregnant and is alleged to have left the baby under a tree with its umbilical cord still attached. A ground maintenance worker discovered the girl, named Baby M by police, while clearing shrubbery on the morning of May 19, 2017. Defence lawyer Phillip Rule told the court: 'The child's body had the umbilical cord and placenta on it. She told Rai through an interpreter: 'We have finished the hearing for today.
