Woman charged for giving water to pigs near slaughterhouse faces trial Wednesday

A trial begins Wednesday for an animal rights activist charged with mischief for giving water to pigs that were in a sweltering truck on their way to slaughter. Krajnc, 49, is part of the group Toronto Pig Save, which held a vigil outside the pork processing plant on June 22, 2015. Some plan to hold a vigil outside the courthouse Wednesday, Toronto Pig Save said. There will also be a vigil outside the slaughterhouse at 821 Appleby Line.
