Woman caught importing meth from Thailand through the mailA woman has been charged with importing methamphetamine into New Zealand by getting it sent through the mail. Piatarahi Whanau appeared in the Palmerston North District Court on Friday and pleaded guilty to importing the Class A drug. She had already pleaded guilty to another charge of importing methamphetamine in a similar fashion. Between 2013 and 2014 Whanau contacted a supplier in Thailand who sent her a parcel of the drug valued at $10,000, according to a summary of facts. Whanau also pleaded guilty to receiving $6500 in June 2016.
