NOAKHALI, Nov 29, 2023 (BSS) - A woman was beaten to death reportedly by her neighbour over a trivial matter in Jagodananda village under Ward No-5 of Dhansiri union in Kabirhat upazila of the district today. The deceased was identified as Aleya Begum, 50, wife of Soleman Mia, a resident in Jagodananda village under Ward No-5 of Dhansiri union of the upazila. Later, local people rescued her and took her to Noakhali 250-bed General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead around 8:30 am, he said. Salim, the son of the victim, complained and said that Rezia Begum's ducks next to their house eat their paddy. The body was kept at the Noakhali 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy, OC added.
