(File photo)Hers is thought to be among only seven "restricted patient" orders in New Zealand, the longest order has lasted 24 years. The woman's order was made less than a year ago. Her case at the High Court in Wellington on Monday is the first time a restricted patient order has been appealed. Crown lawyer Ian Auld defended the decision to make the woman a restricted patient. The woman had been in New Zealand for 25 years and that might be relevant to her cultural identity too.
