A woman and her child escaped death after a matatu nearly ran over them along the Bungoma-Mumias road at Musikoma, Bungoma town yesterday at around 6.00pm. Several people were left with injuries as the matatu ferrying 14 passengers Kisumu hit a motorbike that was crossing the road at Musikoma in the outskirts of Bungoma town. According to witnesses, the driver had tried to evade the three but could not succeed as he had on high speed. The bodaboda rider was lucky enough to save his life by jumping over by the road side leaving her passengers the tragedy. The woman is said to be in stable condition as she receives treatment after they were rushed to a hospital in Mumias.
