A yoga trainer and her brother were arrested by the Cyberabad Police today for allegedly cheating a couple on the pretext of performing rituals to cure their problems after 'kidnapping' them. N Ushasri, who runs a yoga centre here, and her brother J Abhishek were arrested on charges of blackmail, intimidation and abduction under various sections of the IPC, police said. The couple had approached Ushasri on June 27 seeking her help in solving their family problems, according to police. "After collecting information about their family problems, Ushasri convinced them that she would solve them through spiritual counselling and by performing rituals like 'Kayakalpa'," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Madhapur Division) M Ramana Kumar said. Under the pretext of taking the couple to the Srisailam temple for performing some rituals, Ushasri allegedly took them to Tamil Nadu, he said.
