A Maryland woman faces criminal charges for allegedly stealing from a restaurant that had been damaged in a recent flood. Portalli's Restaurant owner Evan Brown told police he found a woman walking out of his business when he arrived to assess the damage Sunday afternoon. When he confronted the woman, Brown says she hurled one of the bottles at him. Media outlets quote Howard County police as saying Madeline Eve Scott of Ellicott City was arrested Wednesday on assault, burglary, and theft charges.
