Woman Accused of Extorting Eliot Spitzer Reaches Plea Deal


A woman accused of extorting former Gov. Eliot Spitzer for $400,000 struck a plea deal with state prosecutors Monday and was released from jail. While the plea deal resolved the case involving Mr. Spitzer as well as a forgery case against the woman involving another man, Svetlana Travis Zakharova only pleaded guilty to petit larceny against the other man.
