The knitted poppy tribute at the Ullapool WWII Memorial. Ullapool resident, Effie Maclean, who is soon to be 96 years old, has knitted a poppy tribute for Ullapool's War Memorial with her group of knitters. The tribute had received over 400 likes and comments commending the project over social media, ahead of Remembrance Sunday tomorrow. Effie said that the project didn't take the group long at all, since the idea to create a knitted poppy memorial was very 'spur of the moment' and they just 'mucked in' and got it done. Fellow knitters for the poppy project were Jessie Osborne, Ann MacNicol and Irene Duthie.
