Ms. Millet was taken to New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, where she was pronounced dead. Neither woman had a history of violence, and no complaints had been filed about either of them, Ms. Telesford said. The woman who identified herself as Andrea B. said she often saw the woman sharing cigarettes with men outside the building. The Y.W.C.A.’s security personnel responded to the assault, and no other residents were hurt in the episode, Ms. Telesford said. Ms. Millet, the woman said, was from Trinidad.
