A 21-year-old woman is dead and a man is in serious condition after a two-alarm fire in an Etobicoke home Thursday morning. The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. in a basement apartment on Byng Ave., near Albion Rd. Toronto paramedics said the woman was found without vital signs and they were able to revive her but she later died in hospital. The man, 20, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries. A Toronto fire investigator has been called to the scene.
