Woman’s attempt to impersonate, take driving test for 73-year-old mother foiled by criminal charge

Police would not reveal the woman’s identity or the identity of the woman’s mother. Police were called to the local Ministry of Transportation office on June 9 after a provincial driving evaluator became suspicious of the woman’s getup. They found a 39-year-old woman from Kars — a rural Ottawa village — who was wearing a wig and glasses, having dressed to appear like her 73-year-old mother. Police arrested the woman, who was charged with “adult personation with intent” and was released pending an upcoming court date. A woman who donned a wig and heavy makeup to try to pass herself as her elderly mother during a driving exam has been charged with impersonation by police in Smiths Falls, Ont.
