This week celebrates the 50th anniversary of landing on the moon. Currently, the main focus is to prevent the contamination of other worlds from visiting space probes from any stowaway from Earth. The spirit of these laws is not to protect potential life for its inherent self-worth, but for the good of humanity. If we were to make our home among the stars, we need resources. A revision would need to make it possible and profitable for both nations and private enterprises to explore space.
