With Lalu Prasad Yadav no more a coalition partner in Bihar, Nitish Kumar-led government has decided to back his rival Aditya Verma’s Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) ahead of Supreme Court hearing slated for Tuesday. Even the Union Law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has lent support to CAB and demanded Bihar’s team return to the domestic circuit from the ongoing season. The support has come at a time when few acting BCCI officials tried hard to lend more financial support to Yadav’s Bihar Cricket Association. CAB secretary Verma has been assured by Bihar CM during their meeting two days back that state government will take up the issue with sports ministry and other appropriate levels to ensure that interest of Bihar’s cricketers are protected. The present office-bearers of the BCCI are leaving no stones unturned to kill the talent of Bihar and likewise states,” alleged CAB secretary Verma.
