TEMPE, Ariz. — Entering their toughest matchup of the young season, the Stars goaltenders will take center stage on Saturday afternoon in Edmonton. Wedgewood earned the win on Thursday in Arizona, making 28 saves on 30 Coyotes shots, his second win since stepping in for Oettinger. “There were some real chances in the second period,” Stars coach Pete DeBoer said. Last week, with Oettinger hurt and Anton Khudobin unable to fit beneath the salary cap, the Stars signed Murray to an NHL contract. Returning for his fifth season allowed Murray to complete his master’s degree and also play in 36 of the Minutemen’s 37 games.
