The Washington Nationals are one of only two teams, along with the Seattle Mariners, that have never won a pennant. Harper, a left-handed slugger who was National League MVP in 2015, has also been linked to the Los Angeles Dodgers and both Chicago clubs. Dozier finished last year with the Los Angeles Dodgers after a midseason swap but played so sporadically that the rust showed. Shortstop Trey Turner not had the most stolen bases in the National League but played all 162 games. Though heavily favored each time, the Nationals have never advanced past the first round of the playoffs, the National League Division Series.
